Chinese Gang Laundered $6M via USDT in Crypto Scam Targeting Indians

A Chinese court has convicted nine individuals for running a telecom and crypto scam that targeted over 66,000 Indians. The group used fake platforms and identities to promise returns of 8–15%, stealing over ₹517M (~$6.2M). The laundered funds were converted to Tether’s USDT stablecoin and exchanged into yuan or USD at a 15% discount via third-party platforms. The nine individuals have been sentenced to prison for their involvement in this crypto scam.
